Julia's Training for the 3-Day in Boston

I completed the Avon 3-Day walk for breast cancer on May 18-20, 2000. Wow! When I crossed the finish line, paraded down Boylston, and stood with the 3000 or so walkers who made it with tears flowing down my cheeks and strangers who had become friends in a matter of days giving me hugs ... it was beyond incredible, one of my proudest moments.

Will I do it again next year? Gosh, I'm thinking about it, or maybe one of the other amazing events like the 7 day safari in Africa or the 26 mile walk through the night for suicide prevention.

I'll write more later, still recovering, but I wanted to get a few words up to thank everyone who made this possible for me. You are all heros!

And if you are thinking of doing it yourself some day, all I can say is "GO FOR IT!"
